Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 14: – In a bid to strengthen the education sector in Meghalaya, a high-level meeting was held on Friday at the Main Secretariat here. The meeting, chaired by V.K. Mantri, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, brought together top officials from the Education Department to discuss pressing issues affecting the state’s schools.
According to sources, the meeting focused on key areas such as vacancies in schools, rationalization of SSA and government schools, recognition of unrecognized schools, clustering of schools, salary disbursal to GIA schools, and the Meghalaya School Education Act 1981.
The state government’s initiative to address these critical issues is seen as a significant step towards improving the education system in Meghalaya. By tackling these challenges, the government aims to create a more robust and inclusive education framework for its students.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Education Department & DSEL, along with DSEOs, SDSEOs, and other officials from across the state. Further details on the outcome of the meeting are awaited.
