Shillong ( Meghalaya), April 27 : Acting on specific information , East Jaintia Hills police arrested a suspected drug peddler while he was on his way from Manipur to Shillong with 990 gms of heroin in a vehicle having no registration number .
The arrested has been identified as Nehtinmang Haokip (36) hailing from Songgel village in Churachandpur district of Manipur.

The seized heroin is worth Rs 7.2 crore in the international market.
During the search operation, 84 soap cases containing yellowish orange heroin powder were found in the vehicle.
Police have registered a case under sections of NDPS Act .
