Shillong (Meghalaya) , July 9 : The state Cabinet which met today approved the enactment of the Meghalaya Settlement of Arrears Ordinance 2020. The Tax Amnesty Scheme will provide a 6 months window to tax defaulters to pay their dues to the Govt. in exchange for partial amnesty/waive off of 30% of the arrear dues.
The cabinet also approved the 100 points vacancy based reservation roster to implement the 4% reservation for persons with benchmark #disabilities as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
The cabinet also decided to revise the payment of Ex-gratia amount and grant to victims of electrical accidents. Additionally, the Government has also decided to impose penalties of Rs. 500 for first time violators which will be increased to Rs.1000 for repeat violators.
