Kokrajhar (Assam),Mar 22: A total 16 candidates have withdrawn nomination papers on the last day of the withdrawal on Saturday and now a total 253 candidates are in fray to contest the upcoming council elections from 19 constituencies in four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Council whenever the EC decides a date .
Eight candidates have withdrawn nomination papers from contesting the upcoming BTC council elections from 12 constituencies in Kokrajhar district on the last day of the withdrawal and only 77 are in fray here to contest the upcoming council elections.
Four independent candidates have withdrawn in Fakiragram constituency,which includes ,Nilambar Roy,Nurzamal Sheik,Bijay Tiwari and Biswajit Debnath and now twelve candidates are in fray to contest the elections.
Independent candidate from Debargaon constituency Manoj Kumar Rabha withdrew his nomination papers from contesting the council elections.
With his withdrawal now Debargaon will witness direct contest between BPF candidate Hagrama Mohilary and UPPL candidate Buddadev Mushahary.
Two independent candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers from Srirampur constituency.They are Lakhiram Tudu and Jasim Uddin Joadder.
One independent candidate in Parbatjhora constituency Heman Brahma withdrew his nomination papers on the last day of the withdrawal of the nominations.
With Brahma’s withdrawal of the nomination papers,ten candidates are in fray to contest the elections in Parbatjhora constituency.
In Banargaon constituency,three candidates are in fray to contest the council elections,who are Rajib Brahma(BPF), Rabiram Brahma(UPPL) and Pangkaj Islary(Independent).
Five candidates are in fray in Salakati constituency-Derhasat Basumatary(BPF), Hitesh Mushahary(UPPL), Kabita Basumatary(BJP),two independents- Sanjoy Sarania and Nijwm Mashahary.
In Baukhungri constituency,five contestants are in fray to contest the council elections. They are Doneswar Goyary(BPF), Pratibha Brahma(UPPL), Rukendra Brahma(Congress),two independent candidates Thaneswar Rabha and Nawish Basumatary are also in fray.
In Chirang district, after four candidates withdrew their nominations yesterday , a total of 34 candidates are in the fray in 7 Bodoland Territorial Council Constituencies (BTC).
The candidates who withdrew their candidature are Joseph Basumatry, independent(Chirang Duar), Bijoy Deka(Sobaijhar), Sintu Sakldhar(Thuribari) and Nirpen Sutradhar( Thuribari).
Four candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers from in Baksa district and now only 72 contestants are in fray .
In Udalguri district, 70 candidates are in the fray in ten constituencies for contesting the forthcoming council elections.
