Kokrajhar( Assam), Mar 22: President of United People’s Liberal(UPPL) Pramod Boro said that his party is winning majority seats in the upcoming BTC council elections as people from all walks of life are coming forward to support the party for ‘parivartan’ and healthy upliftiment among the society.
Speaking the reporters at a press conference held at party office in Kokrajhar on Saturday just after the council elections were postponed indefinitely , Boro alleged that BPF ruled BTC administration has been indulging large scale corruption in the council in their 17 years of rule in the council region.
He said that people from different communities are being deprived from the welfare schemes due to the insincere attitude from the council administration.He said that citizens are have been denied from proper welfare and development opportunities from the council administration.
He demanded that state government and district administration should take strict steps for removal of public hoardings which have been erected at several private properties in the different parts of the district.
He has urged the state election commission to check illegally appointment of salaried employees despite the ongoing the code of conduct if force in various departments by mentioning back dates across the council region.
He also welcomed the postponed of the BTC council elections,adding that it was a good step initiated by state election commission keeping in the health and safety of the people in mind .
“We welcomes election commission’s decision to postpone the BTC election as it is a good step for the safety of people’s life in the state”,Boro said.
He said that party is winning the BTC council with majority seats and form the next council .
Boro also informed that former BTC MCLA and BPF leader from Parbatjhora constituency Hem Chandra Brahma along with 35 members from BPF,Congress,former ABMSU leaders,ABSU,AAMSU leaders joined the UPPL on Saturday in Kokrajhar.
