Shillong, July 13: Three men from Uttar Pradesh and three minors have been apprehended in connection with the Oakwood Homestay vandalization and threatening case, following coordinated efforts by Meghalaya, Assam, and West Bengal police.
The suspects — identified as Vikas Singh, Avinash Singh, and Akhand Pratap Singh, along with three 17-year-olds — were arrested from Samuktala Police Station area in Alipurduar district of West Bengal by a team from East Khasi Hills Police.
The arrests came after a viral social media post by the property owner showed extensive damage to the rooms, threats made to staff, and guests fleeing the property.
Police said the three adults were produced in the Alipurduar court and granted bail. The three minors were sent to the Juvenile Justice Board.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
