Shillong, Oct 5: Rumours of a political shake-up in Meghalaya this evening were firmly shot down by the NPP-led MDA government.
For the past few days, speculation has been rife in political circles that the Meghalaya government is likely to fall amid alleged dissent within the alliance. WhatsApp chatter and backroom talk suggested fresh realignments were in the offing.
Putting an end to the buzz, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong this evening denied the charges and asserted that the present government is absolutely stable.
Speaking to reporters, Tynsong dismissed reports of any rift within the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) and said the NPP-led coalition remains united and is focused on governance.
