Shillong, Sep 29: Mawlai beat Meghalaya Police 2-0 in the Shillong Premier League at SSA Stadium today to move to second place with 15 points, one behind leaders Langsning.
Arkibor Makhroh scored in the 3rd minute and Damanbhalang Chyne added the second in the 51st as Mawlai registered their sixth clean sheet of the season. Police, fifth on 10 points, are now out of the title race.

Mawlai could have won by more, with substitute Fairming Suting hitting the post in the 61st minute.
