Shillong (Meghalaya), May 23: Langsning FC are through to the 5th Meghalaya State League semifinals despite a second-half red card, beating Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC 4-2 today.
Atlanson Kharmaw’s 32’ free-kick and Samuel Phawa’s 41’ finish put Langsning 2-0 up. Iaishah Bareh cut the gap for Rymbai at 48’.
Dajiedlang Wanshnong made it 3-1 at 70’ but saw red after a post-goal scuffle. Rymbai failed to use the extra man. Mecheal Roy Kurbah struck in stoppage time for Langsning before Harita Suchen’s 90’+5 reply.
Earlier, Nangkiew Irat kept their bid alive with a 3-1 win over Maram FC. Justerwell Tham scored twice, Neblejohn Lyngkhoi added one, Threesbirth Momin netted for Maram.
Langsning top Group B with 12 points and qualify. Rymbai and Nangkiew Irat are tied on 9 but Rymbai hold the head-to-head edge. Their Tuesday meeting decides the second semifinalist. Maram end with 0.
Group A concludes Monday: Rangdajied United vs Shillong Lajong at 2pm, Mawlai SC vs Nongkseh SSCC at 6pm. Lajong and Nongkseh are already through, with top spot still up for grabs.
