Guwahati(Assam), May 04 : The BJP-led ruling coalition in Assam is heading towards absolute majority if the trends are any indication.
Till 11 in the morning BJP alone is leading in 70 seats while AJP and BPF are leading in 10 and 8 seats respectively.
On the other hand, Congress is leading in 25 seats and Raijor Dal is taking lead only in Sivasagar. AJP candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi is trailing behind his nearest rival BJP candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi till 11 in the morning.
Significantly, AIUDF is leading only in 1 seat.
BJP candidate Pradyut Bordoloi is taking a huge lead in Dispur than his nearest rival Congress candidate Meera Borthakur.
Prominent BJP candidate taking lead include Chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in Jalukbari, Piyush Hazarika in Jagiroad.
