Shillong(Meghalaya), April 10: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inaugurated St Mary’s College’s Indoor Sports Hall and renovated amenities, funded by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA 2.0). The event was attended by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and MLA Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh.
Sangma praised the college’s dedication to quality education and holistic development, highlighting the government’s annual support of Rs 1200 crore to such institutions. He emphasized student-centric approaches, stating, “We had forgotten the students… when we started focusing on them, things changed.”
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to transformative changes in education, acknowledging challenges ahead. RUSA 2.0 has funded infrastructure upgrades and ICT integration in state colleges.
