Tura (Meghalaya), April 2: The District Magistrate of West Garo Hills, Vibhor Aggarwal, has lifted the night curfew imposed on the district, effective immediately. The curfew was enforced on March 19, due to law-and-order concerns, but has been withdrawn following a review of the current situation.
The order allows the resumption of normal activities, including movement of the public, shops, and commercial establishments, subject to compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Citizens are advised to maintain peace and public order, and any disturbances will invite strict legal action.
Law enforcement agencies have been directed to remain alert and take necessary measures to prevent breaches of peace and maintain public order.
