Shillong (Meghalaya), April 1: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma handed over the Meghalaya IT Awards 2026 to 203 meritorious students, recognising their academic excellence in the 2025 academic year. The students, from Classes 10 and 12, received laptops as part of the initiative aimed at promoting and supporting students in information technology.
Addressing the gathering, Sangma congratulated the students, emphasizing the importance of passion and determination in achieving success. He encouraged them to leverage technology and emerging opportunities in fields like AI, clean energy, and entrepreneurship to contribute to the state’s growth.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui highlighted the government’s commitment to investing in students’ futures, noting the distribution of laptops as a gateway to the digital world. The initiative reflects Meghalaya’s focus on digital empowerment and skill development.
