Shillong(Meghalaya), March 27: Meghalaya emerged victorious at the Senior National Khelo India ASMITA Pencak Silat League 2025-26, bagging 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal. The hosts dominated in both combat and artistic categories, showcasing their prowess in this Indonesian martial art form.
Khamtimon Rympei and the duo of Ilashimti Klein-Libia Matong grabbed gold medals, while Banrilang Muktieh and Promiseora Khymdeit settled for silver and bronze, respectively. Nagaland and Jammu & Kashmir followed in second and third place.
The event, part of the ASMITA league promoting women’s sports, saw 300 participants from 23 states. Pencak Silat’s inclusion in the 2027 National Games could boost its popularity in Meghalaya.
