Shillong(Meghalaya), March 27: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma emphasized the importance of education and entrepreneurship at Synod College’s Diamond Jubilee celebration. He urged youth to consider entrepreneurship, citing the limited government job opportunities and the potential for growth in the state.
Sangma highlighted Meghalaya’s significant investment in education, with ₹1,200 crore spent annually to support over 4,500 institutions. He encouraged institutions to promote skill development and innovation, assuring government partnership.
Addressing concerns over drug abuse and HIV, Sangma stressed responsible action and collective effort. He praised Synod College’s growth since 1965, with over 3,000 students and A+ NAAC accreditation.
The event marked the culmination of College Week 2026, themed “Grace, Growth and Gratitude”, showcasing student vibrancy and unity.
