Kokrajhar (Assam), March 20: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) have filed nominations for the upcoming Assam assembly elections, with UPPL president Pramod Boro leading the charge from Tamulpur constituency.
UPPL has fielded 19 candidates, including Boro, who expressed hope of winning several constituencies with community support. “I seek blessings and support for a Peaceful, Harmonious and United BTR, and a truly Viksit, Atmanirbhar Assam,” Boro said.
BPF has announced 11 candidates, including Sewli Brahma Mohilary for Kokrajhar LAC. The party is contesting under the NDA banner, with BJP fielding four candidates in alliance.
Elections are scheduled for April 9, with Congress also in the fray. Citizens wish for a smooth and fair election process.
