Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 29: In a powerful display of zero-tolerance towards substance abuse, Meghalaya destroyed seized narcotics worth ₹91 crore at Star Cement Ltd., Lumshnong, on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The haul included heroin, Yaba tablets, ganja, codeine-based cough syrups, and R-7 tablets, seized in 58 NDPS cases across seven districts.
This move is part of the Drug Reduction, Elimination and Action Mission (DREAM), launched by the Chief Minister in 2023, aiming to create a drug-free society. The destruction sends a strong message: Meghalaya is committed to protecting its people and securing their futures.
The enforcement action reflects the collective resolve of the people and government, marking a significant step towards a healthier, safer Meghalaya.
