Tura (Meghalaya), Nov 28: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the Paver Block Road under the Smart Town Project at Lower Hawakhana, here. The event was organized by the Development Committee, Lower Hawakhana, here. Expressing his happiness to see the transformation in the locality, the Chief Minister noted that the small, yet significant scheme has brought a major change.
A total of Rs 54 crores has been sanctioned under the Smart Town Project for paver block roads in different localities of Tura. Approximately Rs 1400 crores is being invested in various development projects for Tura town. The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to bringing balanced development not only in all district headquarters but also in the localities of the towns.
The Chief Minister assured the locality development committee that he would prioritize the approach road to the locality graveyard and the retaining wall for the locality church. Interacting with residents, he addressed issues such as public toilets, street lights, and CCTVs. Expressing his pride and satisfaction in seeing the transformation of Tura town, the Chief Minister urged the community to cooperate and participate in achieving the larger objectives.
