Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 18: The 15th Annual Sports Meet of the National Health Mission Employees Association (NHM), Meghalaya, has come to a close with East Khasi Hills District emerging as the overall champions. The event, which was held under the theme “Wellness through Sports, Service through Health,” saw healthcare professionals from across the state come together to showcase their athleticism and camaraderie.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, MLA of Mylliem Constituency, and Daniel M. Thangkhiew, Political Secretary & OSD to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya. In his address, Lyngdoh praised the sports meet for bringing out the child in every individual and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting health and wellness in the community.
The event featured a range of sports, including football, basketball, badminton, and tug of war, with teams from across the state participating with great enthusiasm. The NHM Sports Meet is a testament to the importance of physical activity and teamwork in promoting health and wellness, and it is hoped that such events will continue to inspire and motivate healthcare professionals in the state.
