Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 9: A 7-year-old boy’s body was recovered in Nongrah locality on Thursday morning, sparking widespread concern in the community. This is the second such incident in less than 1 month, following the death of 4-year-old girl, whose body was found in an under-construction building.
The police have launched an investigation into the latest case, suspecting foul play. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the matter further. The authorities are working to determine if there’s any connection between the two incidents or if they are isolated cases.
The local residents are on high alert, and the police have urged them to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity. The police are also examining evidence and conducting forensic analysis to identify the perpetrator.
Today’s discovery of a 7-year-old boy’s body in Nongrah locality has indeed sent shockwaves through the community, especially given the similarity in circumstances to a previous case. Just less than a month ago, a 4-year-old girl was found dead in an under-construction building in the same area. In both cases, the police have suspected foul play and launched investigations.
In the case of the 4-year-old girl, a 13-year-old neighbor was identified as the prime suspect. He confessed to accidentally causing her death by drowning in a water-filled pit. However, the police are now exploring whether there’s a connection between the two incidents or if they are isolated.
