Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 27: The 2nd Purple Fair 2025, held today, August 27, 2025, at the U Soso Tham Auditorium here, Meghalaya, was a resounding success in promoting inclusion and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the state.
Organized by the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRCSRE), Shillong, in collaboration with the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Meghalaya, the event brought together approximately 687 attendees, including 325 PwDs, their families, caregivers, and representatives from NGOs across the region.
Dr. Ram Shakal Sahani welcomed the dignitaries, participants, and stakeholders, setting the tone for a meaningful and impactful gathering. The event served as a vibrant platform to foster inclusion, enhance skills, and support the disability community, reaffirming Meghalaya’s commitment to empowering PwDs.
Through this initiative, the state government and CRCSRE have demonstrated their dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for PwDs, enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute to the state’s growth and development.
