Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 7: The Shillong Book Fair continued to enthrall book enthusiasts on its third day, offering a vibrant mix of literature, culture, and technology at the State Central Library.
Anime and Manga Mania:
The animanga genre stole the show, attracting young fans like Jordan Nongsiej, a Class VIII student. “I’m a huge Studio Ghibli fan! I’ll definitely check out some books,” he exclaimed. Anime and manga books drew large crowds.
Digital Library Engagement:
A highlight of the day was the interactive session on Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya, India’s first-ever digital library platform, launched by the Ministry of Education.
“This platform aims to make reading accessible to all, anytime, anywhere,” said an NBT official.
The Shillong Book Fair continues until October 10, offering, book launches and author talky, workshops and panel discussions and cultural performances and activities.
The event is being organized by: National Book Trust, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
