Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 27 : On the occasion of 74th Republic Day, Dr. Jalaj Sinha, DIG (Medical) posted at FTR HQ BSF Meghalaya bestowed with Police Medal For Meritorious Service for his distinguished contribution in the Medical field and well-being of force personnel.
Dr. Sinha served as the Nodal officer for BSF during the Covid pandemic at Force Headquarters, New Delhi and done tremendous work to save the lives of the patients. During his 30 year long service he served at various challenging locations like. Ladakh, North East and even Kashmir during the time of peak militancy.
He also paid a significant contribution in abating Malaria among BSF troops at Tripura. In addition, Constable Dharamveer Singh of 172 Bn BSF Meghalaya was also honoured with PMMS for his impeccable service with courage and bravery.
On this Republic Day, the President of India awarded 59 medals to BSF personnel which include 7 Police Medal For Gallantry , 5 President’s Police Medal For Distinguished Service and 47 Police Medal For Meritorious service.
