Kokrajhar (Assam) , April 5: Sensation prevails in Chirang district after three persons have been reportedly killed and and a senior police officer sustaining serious bullet injuies in two separate firing incidents in the past 24-hours .
According to local sources, two persons were killed at an encounter with police late last night hat Khungring area under Runikatha police station in Chirang district.
The encounter was between police and suspected members of former NLFB where two persons received serious bullet injuries and an additional SP of Chirang, Prakash Medhi also received serious bullet injuries.
The former NLFB members were immediately rushed to the JSB civil hospital, Kajalgaon where doctors declared them brought dead.
The have been identified as Mahanta Narzary and another member was yet to be identified.
The injured additional SP Medhi has been referred to GMCH ,Guwahati for better treatment .
In separate incident,one person Raja Boro(19) of Kamarpara near Kishan Bazar was shot dead late last night by unknown miscreants.
According to police, a group of dacoits entered in Manaranjan Narzary’s house around at 11:30 PM last night and threatened Manaranjan Narzary by showing their illegal arms while the family members were screaming out of fear . The dacoits finally left Manaranjan Narzary’s house.
Notably, Manaranjan Narzary is inhabitant of Kishan Bazar Kamarpara village under Dhaligaon police station of Chirang district. Manoranjan Narzary informed about incident to his brother in-law known as Raja Boro, (19 years ) and after a while Raja Boro rushed towards his brother in-law’s house while dacoits who were fleeing met Raja Boro on the way and killed him mercilessly .
BTR CEM and UPPL president Pramod Boro visited the house of Raja Boro today afternoon and met the family members of Raja Boro in Chirang.
BTR CEM Boro has termed that the Chirang incident was unfortunate for the society.
Boro said that the region has been seeing several incidents of encounters in Chirang and recently one person was killed at an encounter in Kokrajhar district.
Boro said that the recent incidents of dacoity were unwanted and unfortunate. He said that the police administration in the region is seriously concerned after the incidents.
