Shillong ( Meghalaya), June 19 : One 38 -year -old Donlad Shylla was arrested today from Nongingi village in West Jaintia Hills by police for putting up derogatory remarks against Deputy Commissioner , East Khasi Hills , Ms , I Laloo which had gone viral on all social media platforms .
This was in reaction to the DC’s order urging all who drive commercial vehicles and those running businesses and vendors to be vaccinated, failing which, they shall not be able to operate.
In a press -statement , SP , East Khasi Hills Sylvester Nongtnger said the Special Cell, East Khasi Hills with the assistance of West Jaintia Police nabbed him on Saturday morning .
In the viral post , DC Ms. Isawanda Laloo, IAS, was shammed over urging people to vaccinate . Rather than being complimented for her role , the DC was on the receiving end with vulguar and sexist comments .
A screenshot message which had gone viral through WhatsApp across Meghalaya has a picture of DC Laloo with the headline ‘No vaccination, no reopening of shops.’ A vulgar comment on the post by Donlad Shylla finally led to his arrest .
On Friday CM Conrad Sangma also took to Twitter to condemn the nasty comments aimed at the DC. He tweeted ,“Condemn the distasteful comments made on the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district who has been executing her duties to the best of her ability to ensure the safety of all residents.”
