Kokrajhar (Assam),Oct 23: Keeping with the trend of traditional celebration of Durga Puja, Ma Durga was dressed with traditional Bodo Aronai and Phulam Gamosa at the Durga puja being held at the ex-BTC executive member Rajib Brahma’s residence here .
Like previous years , this year too, the family members of Rajib Brahma organised the Durga Puja at the residential complex at JD Road in Kokrajhar town.
Jyotika Brahma,wife of Rajib Brahma and devotees offered their prayers and worship to Goddess Durga on Maha Saptami today .
The idol was specially, designed with traditional Aronai and Phulam Gamosa to attract the devotees and visitors during the Durga Puja celebrations.
Jyotika Brahma said that her family has been continuing with tradition of celebrating Durga Puja at their own house for the past few years.
The priests were specially called from Dhubri and Guwahati for performing the pujas.
One of the priests , Ram Pandey said that this year apart usual rituals and prayers , special payers are being offered to save the state from deadly Coronavirus outbreak across the state.
Kokrajhar deputy commissioner, Bhaskar Phukan said nearly 90 pujas are being organized amidst strict COVID-19 protocol in entire Kokrajhar district .
