Shillong (Meghalaya), July 4: Four more persons tested Covid positive in the state today taking the total number of cases in the state to 66 .
The four new cases were high risk contacts of a Covid patient from Assam .
The total active cases as of now are 23 after 43 patients have been discharged after recovery .
Meanwhile ,due to the sudden hike of Covid cases in Guwahati the government has imposed curfew in the areas in areas bordering Assam until further orders .
The areas in Bi – Bhoi District are Tandu Bridge via Byrnihat to Jorabat, Pillangkata, Maikhuli, Longkhuli and Umtyrnga . Essential services like security forces, medical teams on duty, wholesale and retail pharmacies, police and armed forces are exempted from the curfew .
The Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted this morning , “4 persons who were high risk contacts of a COVID19 patient who is presently in Assam have tested positive for the same in Ri Bhoi District.”
