The patient along with his wife and two children, who accompanied him on his trip to Europe, have been kept at an isolation ward in Mizoram capital Aizawl.
A 50-year-old man from Mizoram who returned from the Netherlands on March 16 has tested positive for COVID-19, State’s Health Minister R. Lalthangliana said this afternoon .
Official sources in Assam Health department in Guwahati where the test was conducted have also confirmed the case .
The patient is undergoing treatment at Zoram Medical College in Mizoram and hails from capital Aizawl .
On Tuesday , a 23-year-old girl from Imphal (west) was confirmed of Covid 19 in Manipur.
While the patient has been put under isolation at a hospital, her family members too have been quarantined. The family is being tested for coronavirus.
The confirmed coronavirus cases in India jumped to 562 on Wednesday, the Union Health Ministry said. Of them, 43 are foreign nationals. The ministry said that 40 coronavirus patients have also been cured or discharged so far. While the death toll related to COVID-19 rose to ten.
