Guwahati (Assam), July 13 : A doctor at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital here reportedly died of COVID-19 on Monday.
Dr. Jahan Iqbal Ahmed was suffering from fever with cough and had respiratory distress today and died .
He was an Associate Professor of Opthalmology in the Guwahati Medical College .

State Health Minister , Dr . Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Covid test on Ahmed has been done and the government is awaiting for the report .
He said that the 50 -year old doctor was being treated at his home.
