Guwahati ( Assam ) , May 20 : The state reported 6573 new Covid -19 cases in the last 24 hours .
Among the new cases , 1084 were reported from Kamrup (Metro) .
Chief Minister , Dr . Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet informed that the new cases were detected after conducting 102684 tests and the overall positivity percentage stands at 6.40 and the recovery rate at 84.25 %.

A total of 74 Covid -19 patients undergoing treatment also succumbed to their infections in the last 24 hours .
