Kokrajhar(Assam),Mar 31: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed all DCs and SPs of the state to take stern measures to identify and extend medical check up those persons who participated in the Nizamuddin congregation in New Delhi recently.
He has appealed to all sections of citizens to maintain social distance during the lockdown periods across the country.
Chief Minister Sonowal reached Kokrajhar today in a Helicopter and landed at SAI centre in Kokrajhar .He visited took stock of RNB civil hospital in Kokrajhar review the health preparedness on COVID-19.
He held meeting with district administration,senior health officers, several senior officials and took stock of the prevention measures on Coronavirus at Circuit House, here .
While addressing a press conference here he appealed to the citizens to maintain social distance and follow the guidelines during the Lockdown period.
He directed all the DC,SPs of the state to identify the participants from the state at the Nizamuddin congregation and ensure their immediate confirmatory test , quarantine and treatment .
Sonowal said that he has been visiting the districts of the state to take stock about preparedness of health department in fighting the COVID-19 .
Today, CM Sonowal visited Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Darrang to review the preparedness to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.
Noted businessman Arup Kumar Dey handed Rs. two lakh cheque to the CM relief fund to combat COVID-19 during his Kokrajhar visit today.All BTAD fair price shop association also handed over Rs.51,000 and social activist Nerswn Brahma gave Rs.5000 to the CM relief fund.
Meanwhile,Assam Social Welfare minister and in-charge of Kokrajhar district for COVID-19,Pramila Rani Brahma appealed for strict quarantine facilities in the district.She expressed unhappiness and resentment in view of the non availability of proper masks,sanitizing materials till date in Kokrajhar to fight against the spread COVID-19.
A review meeting on COVID-19 was conducted at conference hall, DC office in Kokrajhar today with all the departments engaged if fighting for COVID-19 and was chaired by Assam minister of Social Welfare & Soil Conservation, Assam, Pramila Rani Brahma which discussed on preventive measures for spread of COVID-19 outbreak in the district.
