Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Nov 20: Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) , Chief Hagrama Mohilary has claimed that the UPPL and BJP parties has been maintaining a secret understanding with seat sharing in order to be voted to power in the BTC council elections scheduled on Dec 7 and 10 next .
Mohilary, who is former BTC chief has been campaigning for party candidates across the four districts of the BTC council elections in past few days .
On Friday, Mohilary while addressing a party meeting held at Bank Colony under Debargaon constituency in Kokrajhar. said that the ruling BJP has a secret understanding with UPPL to woo the common masses in the ensuing BTC council elections. He said that both parties has been trying to form the next BTC Legislative Assembly by winning majority seats in the election, but their secret deal will not be successful in the region.
While reacting on the the strategy of BJP election campaign in the council region, he said the proposed alliance break up is intact with BJP.
“If BJP wants to break up alliance with BPF ,it is up to the BJP ,I don’t want to say anything .If the alliance is over, then relieve our three ministers from BPF from Assam cabinet”, Mohilary said.
He has expressed his unhappiness over the BJP’s role in BTC council elections as saffron party has been carrying it’s mass campaigning for their party candidates.
He said that BJP would not be able to score good results in the upcoming council elections as general people are with the BPF party.
He was confident that his party winning over 30 seats in the 40 member house in the BTC council elections and forming the next council .
BPF is contesting in 37 seats in the BTC election.
Mohilary informed that BPF has extended support to the independent candidate Raju Kumar Barman in Fakiragram constituency in Kokrajhar district where BPF had left it for BJP as per the spirit of alliance in the state.
He said that his party is getting massive support from all sections of the region in the region as BPF has been working for all round development of all communities in the region.
On MP Sarania’s reaction, Mohilary denied to make any comments but added that every party is claiming to win in the BTC council elections .
Meanwhile,UPPL candidate for Debargaon constituency Buddadev Mushahary was seen busy campaigning in his constituency.
Today, he inaugurated an election office at Haltugaon .
Mushahary has claimed that this time voters in Debargaon constituency are voting in favour of UPPL for parivartan and development in the region.
