Guwahati (Assam), April, 28 : The total number of coronavirus cases in the state rose to 37 with two more fresh case reported in the state on Tuesday.
The latest case was that of a man from lower Assam’s Goalpara district tested who positive .
State Health Minister , Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said the man is a secondary infection who had come in contact with an attendee of the Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
The Minister tweeted at 3.45 pm today : Alert ~ A person from Goalpara district, secondary contact of a Markaz attendee, has tested #COVID positive.
The number of #COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 37. Active hospital cases 9.

“A person from Goalpara district, a secondary contact of Markaz attendee, has tested #COVID positive,” minister Sarma tweeted.
Earlier in the day , a 16-year-old teenager from Bongaigaon tested Covid positive .
