Guwahati (Assam), May 9 : The surge in Covid -19 continues with 3,299 new cases reported in the state during the past 24 hours taking the total number of active cases to 36,005 .
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro reported 1,346 cases.

48 more seriously ill Covid -19 patients succumbed to their infections today .
The state’s positivity rate stands at 9.13%.The recovery rate stands at 86.65% while the death rate stands at 0.57%.
A total of 4, 045 patients undergoing treatment were released from various hospitals today after they tested negative .
