The three-day event is the first tattoo festival in North East India. The word ‘NEON’ stands for North East of the Nation. The main motive of the event is to promote Assam as a natural hotspot destination for tourists and professions related to creativity.
“The idea is to create awareness among the youngsters and their parents on choosing tattooing as a career option and a profession.” said Ripon Basak (RIPZ), festival creator, founder and owner of RIPZ TATTOO & PIERCING.
Live tattooing and body piercing were exhibited from the morning of the inaugural day and will continue till Sunday.
The 3-day festival is witnessing a Tattoo cult bringing a new form of celebration to the Northeast people.
India’s leading Tattoo artists such as Sunny Bhanushali, Chirag Jhala, Niloy Das, Lokesh Verma, Alex Shimrey, Sameer Patange, Vikas Malani, Mukesh Waghela and Nirmal Dias are participating in the first ever tattoo convention of NE along with the International tattoo artists such as Dave T from London, Bimal Rai from Nepal and Kate from St. Petersburg, Russia.
