Guwahati (Assam), July 11 : One more patient succumbed to Covid -19 at the ICU of Guwahati Medical College today taking the total number of cases to 37 .
In the state recorded a total of 18 death in the past 48 hours .
The patient , Ms. Shanta Acharjee was suffering from acute pneumonia and had type – diabetes along with Hypothyroidism .
Meanwhile as per new guidelines the Death Audit Board has been asked to ascertain whether underlying cause of her death is COVID19.
Today a total 578 patients were discharged from various hospitals of the state after recovery .
Health Minister , Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “Very sad to share that Smt Shanta Asharjee (40),a #COVID patient with history of pneumonia,type-2 diabetes, Hypothyroidism and admitted at GMCH, succumbed to her infection today.My deepest condolences.”
