Shillong(Meghalaya), July 11 : Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs’ (IICA) first regional campus in the North East at Umsawli, here . This milestone marks a significant development for the region, promoting corporate capacity building, good governance, and entrepreneurship.
During the event, Sitharaman inaugurated the IICA North-East Conclave 2025 at IIM Shillong, themed “From Ideation to Incorporation.” The conclave brought together stakeholders from government, academia, industry, and startups to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
The campus is expected to play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and development in the North East, aligning with the government’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. With participation from prominent institutions, the conclave showcased 39 startups, FPOs, and financial institutions from across the region, providing valuable networking opportunities.
