Shillong (Meghalaya), Sept 25: – Asian Confluence, a premier Think Tank headquartered in Shillong, hosted an exclusive interaction and networking session on the topic “India- Thailand Relations: Promoting Educational Collaborations with Northeastern States” at The Asian Confluence Center, here, today.
The event highlighted educations as a key area of collaboration between India and Thailand, with a particular focus on human resource and youth skill development in the Northeastern Region (NER) of India.
A visiting Thai delegation led by Her Excellency Miss Sasirit Tangulrat, Director General,Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand, graced the event as the Guest of Honor. The delegation comprised of officials and members from the academia.
In her special address, Miss Sasirit Tangulrat emphasized the growing importance of educational partnerships in fostering closer ties between Thailand and India& NER. She also highlighted the need to work on educational, vocational opportunities for the youth, and tourism sector.
Sabyasachi Dutta, Executive Director of Asian Confluence, spoke on the future of human resource development in the NER, outlining the potential for mutual growth through strategic partnerships. He further stressed on the need for multisectoral collaborations and the development of region-specific curricula, especially through vocational training programs to promote economic empowerment and youth engagement. He concluded by underlining the Asian Confluence’s commitment to nurturing human capital in the region.
The networking interaction had an enriching discussion exploring opportunities through a variety of programs and unique ideas. Present in the discussions were representatives from eminent educational institutions of Shillong, some prestigious academicians, as well as some of the city’s reputed entrepreneurs, and vocational training institutes.
