Shillong (Meghalaya), April 27 : The state today recorded 4 more deaths and 147 new cases of Covid -19 .
According to official sources ,Sahip A Sangma aged 26 years of Baghmara in South Garo Hills, was admitted to Tura Civil Hospital Monday evening. He passed away later due to Covid-19 pneumonia with chronic pulmonary infection.
Tympang Maya Tariang aged 58 years from Jaiaw Langsning locality here was admitted to Bethany Hospital on Sunday evening and died on Tuesday morning. The cause of her death was due to Covid-19 pneumonia with multiple myeloma and severe anaemia.
Saralin Mylliem Umlong , aged 45 years from Umlyngka , was admitted to Woodland Hospital here here this morning and passed away two hours later. The cause of her death was due to severe Covid-19 pneumonia with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
Lomena Lyngdoh Mawlong aged 59 years of Mawlai Mawkynroh area , was admitted to Super Care Hospital on Monday and passed away on Tuesday morning. The cause of death was due to Covid-19 pneumonia with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock and Type 2 diabetes.
Among the 147 new cases recorded on Tuesday , 90 were reported from East Khasi Hills , 22 from West Garo Hills , 12 from Ri Bhoi , 7 from East Jaintia Hills , 5 from West Khasi Hills, 3 from South Garo Hills, 2 from South West Garo Hills, and 1 each from North Garo Hills and East Garo Hills .
With the recovery of 90 patients today the active cases as of now stands at 1,456. A total of 14, 650 patients have recovered so far since the outbreak of the pandemic last year . The death toll as of now stands at 165 .
