Shillong (Meghalaya) , July 3 : Five youngsters were seriously assaulted by miscreants in Lawsohtun area of the city this afternoon .
According to reports , the 5 injured boys had gone to Lawsohtun area of the city to play basketball when a group of around 20 peple came and attacked them with iron rods and sticks .
All of them were rushed to the Woodland hospital here with multiple injuries and later released .
According to police the boys have been going to play basketball at Lawsohtun area for the past two week ever since the lockdown was imposed .
Surprisingly, today afternoon a group of 20 people armed with iron rods and sticks suddenly started assaulting them.
The five boys have been identified as Aridam Das(22), Subharshi Das Purkayastha(22), Saptarshi(20), Pinak Deb(23) and Bishal Ghosh(24).
Meanwhile , an FIR has been lodged by the family members of the injured boys and Police from Rilbong police station are investigating the case .
