Shillong (Meghalaya), May 5 : State Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong today said that the result of the re-test on the last COVID-19 patient, done after 3 days on the receiving of last report, is unfortunately still positive.
Tynsong appealed to the people of the State not to panic, but urged the concerned patient to remain strong as there were similar cases in other States where the patients have to be tested 6 times to get the negative result.
The fourth test will be done again after three days as per norms of the WHO and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and Department of Health and Family Welfare of the State.
The state Chief Minister tweeted today “‘The 11th patient who was positive was retested and unfortunately the results are still positive. We have to retest after 3 days again.
Meanwhile , to mitigate the impact of the ongoing pandemic of #Covid19 on the economy of the State, the Governor of Meghalaya constituted the ‘๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ’๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ค ๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ- ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐’ with immediate effect. The terms and reference of the Task Force will be:
(I) To formulate clear, sector-specific strategies for tackling economic disruptions due to COVID-19 in the State of Meghalaya;
(ii) To identify new opportunities and fundamental sectoral reforms (including extensive use of technology) for promoting growth in a post COVID world;
(iii) To lay out a clear economic road map for Meghalaya for the immediate period (2020-21) as well as the medium-term (2021-25).
Additionally, ‘๐๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฌ’ will also be constituted and will be headed by senior Government officials. The terms and reference of the Working Group shall be as follows:-
(I) To identify immediate sectoral interventions that can generate maximum impact in terms of employment and livelihood need to be identified within two weeks. To identify critical policy reforms in their respective sector.
(iii) To identify sectoral strategy for the immediate and medium-term need.
(iv) To review the existing schemes and proposing rationalization for better utilization of resources.
The initial presentations of the various Working Groups are to be placed before the Executive Committee from May 11 onwards.
