Jowai(Meghalaya) , April 24: West Jaintia Hills police recovered two stolen scooters from Pdengshakap village and detained five suspects, including four minors, within hours of a theft reported at Ialong Civil Hospital on April 23.
Wanphida O. Laloo of Ummulong village informed police that his scooty, ML-05 W-6877, was stolen from the hospital. CCTV analysis flagged a suspect vehicle. Intensive patrolling led to its interception, and all five occupants were taken to Phramer Traffic Cell for questioning.
During interrogation, one child in conflict with law revealed the stolen scooty was taken to Pdengshakap. A police team recovered it there after due legal formalities.
The same day, Bastanroy Mawthoh of Nongmensong, Langkyrding, reported his Yamaha Ray ZR scooty, ML-05 AF-5040, stolen around 2:30 am. That vehicle was also traced to Pdengshakap and recovered.
Both scooters are now secured at Phramer Traffic Cell for legal action, Addl. SP Crescency W. Lyngdoh said.
