Khanapara (Meghalaya), June 2 : As empaneled Key Resource Centre of the Ministry of Jal Shakti Jal Jeevan Mission, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya has recently organized a 2-day long non-residential training program at Patharkhamah Dorbar Hall Jirang Meghalaya.
A total of 100 participants from different villages of RiBhoi attended the training and all were VWSC (Village Water Sanitation Committee) members.
Dr Nibedita Paul, PD KRC JJM USTM welcomed all the participants of the training in the inaugural session. She explained why this training was most needed. Dr Amelia Nongbet, Senior expert USTM explained that KRCs are now partners of PHED and will mainly help the department by providing required training under Jal Jeevan Mission to build the capacity of all stakeholders for its successful implementation.
Rituparno Borkotoki, MIS Expert KRC, addressed the participants and mentioned the key objective of JJM. District PHED officials attended the training to support the training program. Evangel Kharkongor, Micky Syngkli, Pynshai Dame Surong, Raplang Syiem, Pynshailin Rani, and Acenta Khasaim actively participated. Training Coordinator Onessimoss Singdhar managed and coordinated the program that took place from May, 23 to 24 .
