Iongkhuli residents want settlement of border dispute with Assam

Shillong ( Meghalaya), Oct 22 : The residents of Iongkhuli area located in Ri Bhoi District along Assam Meghalaya border , with the support of Garo Students Union and All Ri Bhoi Garo Women Association today held a Peace Rally at Madan Maikhuli to pressure the state to settle the border dispute between Meghalaya and Assam.

The meeting unanimously decided that they will not agree to the “Give and Take Policy” of the state Government while trying to resolve the border dispute with Assam.

The meeting also decided that not an inch of the land that belongs to Meghalaya be given to Assam.
