Shillong (Meghalaya), March 12 : Social organization , Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (HNAM) today, March 12 , removed the boundary pillars erected by Assam at the inter-state border of Meghalaya and Assam at Umshru Wah Mawtamur under Hima Jirang .
These boundary pillars were removed by the members of HNAM under the leadership of its Central Body President, lamphrang kharbani.
After removing these pillars, the members of HNAM rushed to Shillong and placed them in front of the gate of the Main Secretariat and at the Office of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council.
Speaking to the media, Kharbani criticized the Assam Government for its double standard.
Khabani also said the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council should immediately give a show cause notice to the Tribal Chief of Hima Jirang, as to how Assam could erect boundary pillars under his jurisdiction.
