Shillong ( Meghalaya), July 28 : The Meghalaya High Court has disposed of a public interest litigation related to the relocation of licensed vendors from Police Bazar, here . The government successfully relocated the vendors to newly designated vending areas by July 22, , as promised. The Court noted that with the relocation’s completion, nothing remains in the application.
However, the petitioner’s counsel raised concerns about some vendors’ licenses being wrongfully revoked, preventing their relocation. These issues, along with other related matters, will be considered in the main public interest litigation scheduled for further consideration on August 5.
The case was heard by a bench comprising Justices W. Diengdoh and I.P. Mukerji.
