Bajengdoba(Meghalaya), May 17 : The North Garo Hills District Police have arrested two individuals, Silgring D. Sangma and Asbath B. Marak, for spreading hate speech and anti-India slogans in a viral video.
The video, which was shared on social media, featured the duo shouting inflammatory messages in the Garo language, provoking attacks against India and showing support for Pakistan.
A case has been registered under Bajengdoba PS Case No. 14/2025, and the police are conducting further investigation. The arrests highlight the authorities’ efforts to maintain law and order and prevent the spread of hate speech in the state.
