Shillong ( Meghalaya), Sept , 19 : Tragedy struck Meghalaya today as the bodies of Niancy Riahtam and her 5-year-old daughter, Erika Thabah, were recovered from a river near the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) campus here .
The duo had been reported missing since September 18, and their last known whereabouts were at Mawiongrim ISBT around 2 PM.

A multi-agency response team, comprising search and rescue personnel, fire and emergency services, and forensic experts, has arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic discovery.
