Shillong,(Meghalaya), Aug 10 : 5 officials of the Meghalaya High Court have tested Covid positive and are under self isolation at the High Court Guest House here .
A press – statement by the Registrar General of the High Court , stated that these officials are asymptomatic and are healthy, and they are undergoing self isolation at the High Court Guest House and are being monitored round the clock.
“Owing to the nature of their duties, a thorough enquiry was conducted and after such inquiry, it has been ascertained and confirmed that they have not come into contact with any other person inside/outside the High Court,” the statement added .
The statement said that there are baseless rumours floating, particularly in the social media, that guests of the High Court have flouted COVID health protocol and clarified that all guests of the High Court have adhered to the standard COVID health protocol by getting themselves tested immediately on their arrival in Shillong and maintaining all quarantine/social distance norms. The Registrar General said that High Court is a public place strict health protocol should be adhered to.
Keeping that in mind , the High Court ordered for a complete lockdown of the High Court premises for 3 (three) days, from today to Wednesday (both days inclusive).
The statement also warned that those responsible for spreading rumours, will be dealt with law, once they are identified.
Meanwhile, in an order the District Magistrate , East Khasi Hills has ordered the temporary closure of Rynjah State Dispensary, Hyundai Service at Mawblei for contract tracing .quarantine ,testing and isolation as well as containment for general interest of the public.
