Shillong (Meghalaya), Sept 11 : 4 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the past 24 hours in Shillong taking the death toll in the state to 24 .
According to information available , Sambha Shylla aged 21 years hailing from Jaintia Hills who was admitted on Thursday succumbed to Covid -19 on Thursday due to Type 1 respiratory failure with Covid pneumonia sepsis at NEIGRIHMS , here .
Khim Singh aged 46 years hailing from Happy Valley area of the city who was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on Aug 22 last succumbed to his infections on Thursday . The patients had cough, fever and respiratory distress .
Ram Mela Durga Prasad Rao aged 45 years hailing from Andhra Pradesh was admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital on Sept 4 last and succumbed to his infections today . He was a patient of diabetes and hypertension .
Sarsaswati Puri aged 45 years from Barapathar area of the city was admitted to Nazareth Hospital on Sept 4 last . He was suffering from hypertension and pneumonia and succumbed to his infections on Friday .
Meanwhile , 151 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state on Friday taking the total number of cases in the state to 3447. The active cases stand at 1,534 anfter a total of 1889 patients have been discharged after recovery .
Among the new cases detected on Friday , East Khasi Hills reported 98 new cases which included 57 general public and 41 from Armed Forces .
West Garo Hills reported 17 new cases which included 10 general public and 7 from Armed Forces West Khasi Hills reported 2 new cases and all of them were general public , North Garo Hills 3 (all general public) East Jaintia Hills 27 ( all general public) , South West Garo Hills 3 ( all general public ), West Khasi Hills 2 ( general public) and West Jaintia Hills 1 ( general public)
A total of 47 patients were discharged on Friday after recovery .
